Week 8: Summary

The "Eat This" app has evolved throughout the course of this project. The "Eat This"app originally started as an application that would provide users with a number of different options for healthy eating. The first aspect of the app called "Eat This Instead" allowed users to type in what they were craving, say a brownie, and the app would provide a number of healthy alternatives to that craving. The second aspect of the app called "Balance It" would allow users to plug in ideas for a meal and the app would give a number of suggestions that go with the food specified to help balance the meal and maintain good PH levels in the body. For example, if a user chose steak they would type "steak" into the "Balance It" section and the app would output foods that help break down steak and level PH in the body.

As the project concludes, new elements have been added to the application to better serve users. A new component of the application would help individuals figure out what they could make from what they have in their fridge or pantry. A big aspect of an app like this could to be to educate users about why food is unhealthy or healthy so that the user can identify food more easily that is good for them. To broaden the marketing audience I have also decided to market to athletes. The "Eat This" app would feature a section for athletes where they can plug in what type of athlete they are and athletic goals to find food selections appropriate for the goal in mind.

The project overall went quite well. I had never blogged before so it was new to me but it was a fun experience and I would do it again. I learned a lot not just about entrepreneurship but also more about IST and it's applicable relations in the world not just in an entrepreneurial aspect.
